Having lived in St. Michael’s ward, with my wife and family, for most of my life I feel I know the ward and many of its people well.
Before retirement I was a departmental head at New College, Durham. Apart from education – I am a director of the St. Aidan’s Catholic Academy trust and a governor of St. Aidan’s school – my main interest is transport. I am a member of Railfuture, a founder member of the Conservative Transport Group and chair of the board of Compass Community Transport in the city. I am also a trustee of the George Hudson’s charity.
Interests outside politics include travel, playing tennis, walking, watching football, reading, theatre and cinema.
I am currently secretary of the Council’s Conservative Group of councillors.”
Next ward surgery: Tuesday 25th April from 4-5pm at The Lower Hall, St John’s Church, Ashbrooke Road
