I currently work for a neighbouring Local Authority providing local services as an Operations Manager. I have previous experience in Facility Management, Housing, Regeneration, Grounds Maintenance, Retail and Business Administration.
I am married to my wife Dawn and we have 2 daughters Lily and Grace. We moved to Sunderland in 2010 to raise our family and our children only see this area as their home as they have attended local schools and are settled here.
I am a school Governor at St Michaels RC Primary in Houghton and originally, I was elected as a parent Governor but I am now a Foundation Governor for the school which is now part of an academy. I have a keen interest in education as this is key to opening opportunities for everyone to progress.
My upbringing on a council estate in Blaydon made me realise that education is a way to get families out of poverty and funding for this service and family support is vital to break the cycle.
