I am proud to be elected as a Councillor for the Washington west ward where I have served since 1995.
I am married to Dorothy and have two grown up children.
I have served on many of the Councils committees during my time on the Council. I was a cabinet member for over 15 years and held the post of Deputy Leader then Leader.
On leaving school I started an apprenticeship as a motor engineer then went on to work 13 years in Pyrex which later became Corning’s glass, I then spent just short of 25 years with B T. During my time with B T as well as being a field engineer I was trained to work with our disabled customers helping them with communication equipment to meet their needs.
A union representative most of my working life began my interest in politics.
I hold a ward surgery the 2nd Saturday of the month except August In the Albany wheel centre starting at 10 30am until 11 15am.
